Octave Chanute to Wilbur Wright

Chicago, March 9, 1909

This will be handed you by Mr. G. Crosland Taylor, whose clever paper on "Flying devices," discussing the various materials which can be used and describing his own aeronautical experiments with various forms suspended from a pole, was published in the Proceedings of the Conference of 1893 on Aerial Navigation, and has been alluded to in correspondence and conversations between us.

Mr. Taylor desires to know you and I feel sure that the acquaintance will be mutually pleasant.

Wilbur Wright to Octave Chanute, May 17, 1909
